COVID-19 Update

Mar 12, 2020 12:42:18 PM / by Metro OBGYN Team posted in Health Services

We want you to be aware of changes regarding the coronavirus. The hospitals have changed the visitor policy. As of now, you will only be allowed to have one support person in labor and delivery with you in the hospital. Your designated support person will need to be the same person throughout your hospital stay.

Rest assured that pregnant patients who get the virus generally do well and recover. However, your pregnancy state puts you at higher risk for getting the virus. It does not seem to pass in utero and children seem to do well.

Most importantly, social distancing at this time is highly recommended. We are recommending that you try to limit contact with others wherever possible. Avoid crowds and gatherings. We strongly encourage working from home, having spouses work from home, making sure you have Tylenol, a thermometer, and non perishable food. Wash your hands frequently.

As of right now, there are not any changes to our clinic schedule, but we will keep you updated if there are. We will be able to answer more questions at your next visit or by phone. If you become ill please call us and we will help direct you.

If you have a fever, respiratory illness, cough or have traveled to China, Italy, South Korea, or Japan in the last 14 days, DO NOT come in to our office.
